Setup the scalelines and scale the magic boxes, across a puzzle world.
Discover different types of scalelines, and use their powers.

This is a game made for gmtk game jam 2024 (Built to Scale).

The game will save your position locally after each time you scale(tele)port.

Controls

wasd/arrow - move
spacebar/x -  interact
press/hold z - undo

Click and hold the screen for about a second, and the visual keyboard should appear.

If the game not display correctly, please try to change a browser.

If you're stuck, remember to press z to undo, or hold z to undo a lot.

Story

A giant mouse pointer scaled down the ground, you fell into the abyss, and magically survived.

Mechanisms Details

note - Press space (or x) while standing on them. A text pop-up will show up.

magibox - You can push them (but no multipush). They will fall and become floor if there's no floor under them.

line-scaleline - When a line of magibox on the square of the line-scaleline, the line will move follow the line and arrow of the scaleline.

scaleporter - When stand on them, press space (or x). Teleports you to the next scene (normally you cannot go back and your position will be saved).

(interaction) If a magibox becomes a line (very small) after scaling, it could not be pushed anymore.

(interaction) Magibox will ignore almost everything while scaling. If you are inside of it, you can move as normal and the box will be pushed too. However you cannot push other boxes and still fall if there's no ground under you if you are inside a box.

magic scaleline - You can push the end arrow of a magic scaleline, this will change how much they scale the magiboxes.

button - When you or box on them, it will be activated.

door - It will open when all of the buttons it connects to are active.

point-scaleline - When a point of magibox on the circle of the point-scaleline, the point will move follow the line and arrow of the scaleline.

reverse door - It will close when any of the buttons it connects to are inactive.

(interaction) If you are stuck in wall, you cannot move anymore. If box is stuck in wall, it can't move either.

Ending

(Spoilers)

You finally found a scaleporter that has a note says "EXIT". You scaleported out of the abyss and back to the ground. The abyss looks like a scale handle and you looks like the z-axis.

And the game savedata should be reset.

I might make a version with level editor and exporting/importing levels if at least people like the idea(core mechanism)

Found a glitch where you go inside the magibox.

That's an intentional mechanism.
