Follow The Scaleline level hints


Try out the game and remember to see the controls section in the description.

Before Level 1

You find yourself in a strange place.

Use WASD or ARROW KEYS to move.

Use SPACE or X to interact with the scaleporter.

That scaleporter is broken.

Press SPACE or X when you stand on the note.

The first note tells you this place is the Abyss which is in the abyss.

Graphics

The white (light grey/gray) backgrounds are floors.

The black backgrounds are walls.

The grey/gray background is the pit.

The circle with two dots is the player(you).

The blue circle with T is scale(tele)porter which (scale)teleports you.

The yellowish square with black (dark grey/gray) lines on it (or the black (dark grey/gray) lines with a yellowish background) is a note.

The rainbow color/colour outline with dark grey/gray filling is magibox(box).

(First appear in level 4) The square with a line with an arrow is scaleline.

Below are the hints for progressing in Follow The Scaleline.

Stage/Scene 1

Level 1. Box-1

1. Find out that you can push the box. You cannot push a box by pushing annother box into it.

2. If you push the box down, it will stuck next to the wall and you can't push it out. Press Z to undo. 

(You actually can push it out by pushing it left to the beginning then push it up.)

3. So you need to push it up, then you can push it into the pit.

4. You may already find out that you cannot cross the pit if no box is inside it. So push both boxes into the pit and you can walk on the box to the level 2.

Level 2. Box-2

1. Figure out that the goal is push the 2x1 box into the pit at left.

2. You can't simply push the 2x1 box to the pit at left. How can the 1x1 box help.

3. The 1x1 box needs to go into the pit in order to get the 2x1 box out.

4. You don't want to push the 2x1 box to the bottommost row, rightmost column, topmost row or the left half of the third row from the topmost wall, it's useless. So push the 2x1 box down to the second row from the bottommost wall.

5. Put the 1x1 box into the pit at right. Then you can walk across the pit at right without getting the 2x1 box stuck. And then you can push the 2x1 box into the left pit and go to level 3.

Level 3. Box-3

1. Figure out that you need to push the 1x1 box to the right. (Because there's no way to get to the exit if you push the 1x1 box down first.) Then you need to get the 2x1 box to the bottom right pit to reach the exit.

2. Then you need to push the 4x1 box to the pit to connect the bottom middle island and the bottom left island.

3. There're two ways to connect these two islands, left or right.

4. If you put the 4x1 box left, there's no way to push the 2x1 box right from the bottom middle island.

5. So you need to put the 4x1 box right, try to get the 2x1 box to the top middle island. (Push the 2x1 box right three times, then push it up from the bottom middle island. )

6. Then if you can't get the 2x1 box right and bring it back down again, you actually need to push the 1x1 box down once then push it right into the pit at start. And if the 1x1 box positioned right, then you will be able to push the 2x1 box to the right of the bottom middle island, and you can get to the exit.

Level 4. Scale-1

1. You can only push the box left once, then push it up, otherwise nothing will happen.

2. The line(type)-scaleline touches the right edge(outline) of the the box, this edge then moves follow the scaleline and stops at the end of the arrow. The box becomes 3x1.

3. Then you can push the box down, and push it right into the pit, and reach the exit.

Level 5. Scale-2

1. If you simply just push the box down, it will not work.

2. Push the box left once, then push it down. The box becomes 3x1.

3. Then if you bring down the box to the scaleline at bottom, it will not work. (No matter what you scale, the left edge or the right edge.)

4. So you push the box right from step 2, it becomes 1x1.

5. Push it down, scale it to 4x1, push it up again and right once to scale it to 2x1.

6. Repeat last step again, but this time it finally becomes 3x1. Then you can push it right to the exit.

(I found that you can simply push the box to the exit from step 2. This level I changed so much that it does not work at the end. Maybe adding some more pits in the middle would work, or maybe change the entire level.)
